Layli Samson, JD graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2005 with a degree in Humanities, a love of learning, and a desire to create positive change in the world. Those motivating factors led her to law school at the University of Victoria, where she earned her Juris Doctor. Layli was awarded the 2006 Borden Ladner Gervais First Year Medal in Law for her commitment to leadership and community service. She currently works as a Senior Legislative Analyst for the Provincial Government in Victoria, British Columbia. Layli began researching forced genital cutting and Canadian law in 2013 and is deeply committed to educating and advocating about children’s rights.
